The co-founders’ quest was to devise a business model that could profit from apparel that was headed for landfill. The question was not just about a brand definition, but what exactly was the service that would meld disparate apparel recycling logistics, disparate brands, and consumer demand for circular economy services.

Renewed

The Renewal Workshop was just an inkling in co-founders Nicole Bassett’s and Jeff Denby’s consciousness in 2015 when they read The Compass and the Nail. Their idea was to create a circular business model servicing the outdoor industry.

Our Partnership

Focus

Focusing on consumer perceptions and values associated with sustainability, Compass + Nail surfaced the triggers that would recruit both brands and consumers into a relationship with TRW. Crafting the right user experience for B2B and B2C was essential to paving a successful launch. Compass + Nail put the tenets of the Brand Compass in place forming the initial go to market user experience.

Demonstrated Impact

Founded in 2015, The Renewal Workshop’s growth accelerated quickly, landing Series A investments with Social Impact Ventures, expanding into Europe, while adding partnerships with brands like The North Face, Smartwool, and the H&M Group. In 2022, the global logistics firm, Bleckmann acquired TRW as part of the company’s efforts to create a fully circular supply chain.
